50th Anniversary

We hope you can  join all alumni on Saturday, September 23 as we celebrate the golden anniversary of the College. There will be several events, including reunions for all Phi Theta Kappa members, Student Mentors, athletic teams, tours of campus and networking opportunities. The day will conclude with the Alumni Awards presentation at 4 p.m. in the Large Auditorium on the Marple campuis.

50th Anniversary Alumni Games & Gatherings


The following teams will host games and gatherings for all Phantoms, past and present, to play together.

Baseball: Saturday, September 23, 2 p.m. Marple Campus Athletic Field

All past and present members of the Delaware County Community College Phantoms Baseball team are invited to celebrate the College's 50th Anniversary for a friendly game on the Marple Campus field.

Coach Paul Motta will host this day on the diamond featuring a six inning game followed by a catered reception hosted by the Purple Picnic People and Kevin Bruton '78. Friends and Families are welcome to attend. The cost for this event is $25 and includes player registration, event uniform style t-shirt and the post game reception.

Soccer: Saturday, September 23, 11:30 a.m. Marple Campus Athletic Field
All past and present members of the Delaware County Community College Phantoms Soccer team are invited to celebrate the College's 50th Anniversary for a friendly on the Marple Campus field.

Coach Ryan Griffith '06 will host this scrimmage of Phantom footballers followed by a short barbecue in the Academic Building courtyard. Friends and families are welcome to attend. The cost for this event is $25 and includes player registration, event uniform style t-shirt and the post game reception. 

Basketball: Friday, September 22, 6 p.m. Marple Newtown Recreation Center
All basketball player alumni from Delaware County Community College are invited back for a game and gathering in conjunction with our 50th Anniversary. Players are invited to play a friendly scrimmage at the Marple Newtown Recreation Center followed by a short networking reception at a local restaurant. The registration fee for this event is $25.

If you would like to register for one or more of these events, please follow these instructions:

1) Go to this link: www.dccc.edu/educational-foundation-gift

2) Fill out the information and at the bottom, under GIVING OPTIONS, choose: OTHER.

3) In the OTHER box, please enter "Alumni Baseball/Basketball or Soccer" accordingly" and your t-shirt size. T-Shirt size is needed by Friday, August 25.

4) Hit submit and you will be taken to the College's PayPal page where you will enter your payment information and to complete your transaction. You must go to the PayPal page to complete your online transaction. If you would like to pay another way, please contact the alumni office.

No refunds will be issued. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be rescheduled for a future date.

50th Anniversary: PTK-ATE Chapter All-Years Reunion, September 23, 2 p.m.

The Phi Theta Kappa-Alpha Tau Epsilon chapter of Delaware County Community College will be hosting an all class year (past and present) reunion as part of the 50th Anniversary Celebration on the Marple campus. There is no charge to attend this event.

From the moment you received your invitation to become a member of PTK, you recognized this accomplishment was something very special! This unique reunion during the College's 50th celebration is a chance to network and reconnect with fellow chapter alumni.

This is also a personal invitation requesting the honor of your presence while we say THANK YOU to those who helped establish this chapter at the College. Our four pillars of Scholarship, Leadership, Fellowship and Service are standards we strive to uphold everyday and our gratitude for all that PTK has brought into our lives is expressed through this historic gathering.

This is a FREE event but all attendees need to register so we can plan accordingly. The Future of Law: Legal Minds Needed

As part of the 50th Anniversary on Saturday, September 23, the Paralegal Studies program will host an alumni panel to discuss the stae of the legal profession and the need for talented legal minds. The panel will rom from 1:30-3 p.m. in the STEM Auditorium (1403).

Alumni speakers including:

  • MacDonald Taylor '17- Achieving the Dream National Scholar
  • Enrique Latosion '00- NBC 10 Legal Analyst/Mainline Today Top Lawyer 2016
  • Eileen Pettino '82

The panel will discuss their personal journeys within the legal field, what motivated them to take their journey, the current state of the legal field and the need for talented legal professionals.

Giving Tuesday 2017

The Alumni Association will celebrate #Giving Tuesday, a global day of charitable giving powered by social media and volunteer leadership. Giving Tuesday takes place after Thanksgiving, following the shopping frenzy of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The College will ask alumni, faculty, staff and students to help support the Educational Foundation by making a donation. Donations support the College's 50th Anniversary campaing, so we hop we can count on your support on Tuesday, November 28.

Alumni Presentations

Alumni are a vital asset to Delaware County Community College and current students, and can make immeasurable contributions to the College by providing personal and corporate testimonials that can help inspire and motivate our community. 

One such presentation was delivered by members of West Chester-based Schramm, Inc. on Tuesday, November 30, 2010. The event featured Jeff Roten, Delaware County Community College Alumnus and Schramm-man-on-the-ground at the rescue dig site of the Chile mine collapse, and Bruce D. Mackay, Product Support Manager, Schramm is a West-Chester based drilling-equipment company that played a major role in the rescue of 33 Chilean miners this past October.

Roten, a former Delaware County Community College student, studied Mechanical Systems at the College in 2006 and was presented the 2010 Honorary Alumni Award for his efforts in the rescue and recovery operation. More than 100 faculty, students, Alumni and guests listened to details of the delicate operation to bring the 33 miners back to the surface two months ahead of schedule leading to one of the most inspiring stories of the year.
