Dialogues for Diversity
In 2020, the College established the Center for Equity & Social Justice. The Center aims to help dismantle racism and social injustice within our community by providing ongoing meaningful dialogue opportunities.
The Center hosted an exciting conversation on January 31 with Heather McGhee, speaker, advocate, and New York Times best-selling author of The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together. The presentation explored our barriers to human commonality and the benefits that we gain as a community and country when we come together in unity to accomplish things that we can't do on our own, a concept McGhee has coined as "the solidarity dividend."
In addition to this session, we encourage you to read her book, check out her TedTalk, or subscribe to her new Sum of Us Podcast series, which began in July 2022.
For more information, visit the Center for Equity and Social Justice website. Special thanks to our sponsors, Visual Sound and National Realty Corporation. Questions? Email firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
