Academic Advising & Registration

Counselors can address your academic concerns and answer your questions about the College’s catalog, course requirements, course substitutions and study skills. They’re also here to help you choose both your major and your courses.

Career Counseling

A Career Counselor can help you clarify your goals and make decisions about your career. Whether you need help choosing a major or planning a career change, our counselors can explain the College’s procedures, regulations and services. If you have a question and don't know where to turn, get informed––ask a counselor.

Safe Space Training

The College recognizes the diverse identities that make up our community (inclusive of students, faculty, and staff).  Through this recognition and commitment to growth, the Career & Counseling Center began offering training opportunities and workshop events with an intention to foster a safer space for our students and staff by becoming allies (no matter of our own identity).

Personal Counseling

Sometimes family, work or other responsibilities can get in the way of your academic progress. At such times, it can help to talk to a counselor. The Career & Counseling Center has trained counselors available to help. If you’re looking for long-term counseling, we can refer you to outside counselors or therapists who can meet your needs.

Transfer Advising

Are you beginning your bachelor’s degree with us before transferring to a four-year institution? Make an appointment with a transfer advisor, who can help ensure a smooth transition by guiding you in selecting your transfer school and your courses.

Workshops & Events

The Center offers several workshops and events each semester.

Suicide Prevention Committee

We recognize that family, work, or other responsibilities can get in the way of a student’s academic progress and that can lead to stress, difficulties, or mental health concerns. At times, these concerns become increasingly hard to navigate and may lead to feelings of distress, thoughts of self-harm, suicidal thoughts, attempts to kill oneself, or death by suicide. The College established the Suicide Prevention Committee in 2019. This committee has created a Suicide Prevention & Mental Health Communication Plan as well as programming and events to assist with identifying supports and resources, available to all students and employees.

Many of these counseling services are also available at our other College branches. For more information, please contact The Career and Counseling Center on the Marple Campus or the Student Services office at a campus near you.
