Our Mission Statement

The Delaware County Community College Educational Foundation provides financial resources to assist the Community College in achieving its mission to facilitate learning by providing quality educational programs and services that are student-focused, accessible, comprehensive, and flexible to meet the educational needs of the diverse communities it serves. (Updated June 2020)

Responsibilities of Foundation Directors

  • Organizational Plans and Priorities - The purposes and projects to which the Foundation is committed are determined by the Foundation’s Board of Directors in consultation with the administration of the College.
  • Participation - Meetings of the Foundation Board of Directors are scheduled quarterly. It is expected that Directors will attend the quarterly meetings, serve on one of several committees, keep themselves informed about the College’s needs and programs, and provide personal leadership in other ways, which will further the work of the Foundation and its purposes.
  • Public Relations and Outreach - The prominence of the Directors in the community and their involvement with important community groups makes them a key resource for identifying, screening, and cultivating potential support and for influencing the community on behalf of the College.
  • Financial Resources and Management - A major responsibility of the Board is the procurement and allocation of resources. The Board must play an active role in seeing that these resources are secured in amounts sufficient for the accomplishment of the Foundation’s plans. This requires the use of personal contacts and influence and the demonstration of commitment through personal and organizational contributions.
  • Selecting Directors - A critical and important role for Foundation Directors must always be the identification, recruitment, and appointment of new and committed Directors.
