Student Affairs Update: 10-19-20
Dear Student,
For those that have been with us since August, I hope the semester is going well. For those of you joining us for the first time for the Fall B session, welcome! I wanted to take some time to remind you of some upcoming dates.
Registration Dates:
- October 22 – Registration for Spring 2021 for begins for veterans (Spring classes begin January 21). Thank you to those that have served or are currently serving our country.
- October 26 – Registration for Spring 2021 begins for current students (Spring classes begin January 21). This is also the last day to register for the Fall 7-Week B session. (Fall B begins October 27)
- October 27-28 – Drop/Add for Fall B classes.
- November 13 – Last day for a student withdrawal from a Fall 2020 (consult with your adviser and Financial Aid)
- December 1 – Tuition due for Spring 2021
- December 18 – Last day to register for the Winter Online Session (Winter classes begin December 19)
Spring 2021 classes will be mostly online, like we are for Fall 2020.
If you would like to register for classes, you may log on to delaGATE to register yourself, contact your adviser (information in delaGATE), or contact the Career and Counseling Center (610-359-5324).
Other Dates:
- November 16 – Deadline to apply for Winter Graduation
- November 26-29 – Thanksgiving holiday – College closed
- December 12-18 – Fall 2020 Final Exams
- December 24 – January 3 – Winter Break – College closed
- January 18 – Martin Luther King Day – College closed
Resources:
As we approach the midpoint of fall, I also wanted to share resources available to all of you to help you succeed. The College understands taking classes in the midst of 2020 – pandemic, election, protests – can be difficult. I hope you take advantage of these opportunities.
- The Career and Counseling Center can help you if you are struggling in classes, with a personal issue, and to help plan your academic progress. They are available for phone and Zoom meetings Mon-Thurs 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and Fri 8 a.m.-4 p.m. by calling 610-359-5324 or askacounselor@dccc.edu.
- Tutoring is available online for students. If you need additional assistance in your course, please go to dccc.edu/tutoring-services to schedule. Smartthinking is available 24 hours a day/7 days a week - dccc.edu/online-tutoring.
- The Student Resource Center is available for students in need of additional support due to outside factors in achieving their goals - www.dccc.edu/student-resource-center.
