IN MEMORIAM: Dr. Richard DeCosmo, president emeritus of Delaware County Community College, passed away on January 12, 2023. He served the College from 1980 until his retirement in 2003, and he was a tireless advocate "to really fulfill and serve the needs of the community" during his tenure. Donations can be made in his honor to the Richard DeCosmo Presidential Scholarship Fund on our website or by sending a check to:

Delaware County Community College
Office of Institutional Advancement
901 S. Media Line Road
Media, PA 19063

Please contact the Advancement Office (advance@dccc.edu) or call 610-359-5131 for questions or further assistance.

The Educational Foundation sincerely appreciates the support from our community which makes our scholarship program possible.

Scholarships are critical for college students who cannot afford the full cost of their education. Thanks to the support of our many supporters, the college’s Educational Foundation awards approximately $700,000 in direct support to students each year.

Donors wishing to establish a scholarship may award an annual scholarship or create an endowed scholarship in perpetuity.

Annual scholarships may be established in any amount and will be presented in the full amount to the students who meet the guidelines established by the donor.

Endowed scholarships provide a permanent source of scholarship aid. They are established with a gift of $10,000 or more, which is placed in the Foundation’s investment portfolio. A portion of the interest generated from the endowed scholarship fund is awarded annually to the students who meet the guidelines established by the donor.

Annual and endowed scholarships may be named for the donor, a loved one, a corporation, foundation, or organization. To learn more about establishing and naming a scholarship at the College, please contact the Educational Foundation at 610-359-5131 or send an email to advance@dccc.edu.

Are you a student interested in applying for one of the Educational Foundation’s scholarships? You can apply for a scholarship during the application cycle, which begins in January each year.

Corporate Sponsorships

Delaware County Community College works with dozens of regional employers who generously support our mission, either through ongoing programs or special events. All of these sponsorships provide wonderful visibility and client entertaining opportunities. For more information on our annual golf classic, visit dccc.edu/golf-classic. For more information on how we can design a sponsorship proposal to meet your company’s unique needs, please contact the Advancement office at advance@dccc.edu.

Opportunity Fund

The Opportunity Fund helps turn financial obstacles into educational possibilities by providing aid for items students may need help to maintain their enrollment. The Opportunity Fund supports scholarship assistance and innovative faculty and staff initiatives to improve classroom learning.

Student Resource Center

Delaware County Community College’s Student Resource Center provides critical outreach, advocacy, and holistic support to meet the unmet needs to our students, and is supported by grants from the Educational Foundation. Donors to the Student Resource Center support initiatives such as the campus food pantry, transportation assistance, the textbook loan program, and emergency grants for students experiencing unanticipated financial emergencies that would otherwise prevent them from attending classes.

Planned Giving

Your planned gift today can help support determined students and devoted faculty tomorrow, and setting one up can be as simple as adding a sentence to your will or completing a new insurance beneficiary form. For more details, visit dccc.edu/planned-giving.
