(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA)—Delaware County Community College’s New Music Concert Series continues its spring season with a performance by EN.D.E on Sunday, April 6, at 3 p.m. in the College’s Large Auditorium in the Academic Building on the Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA).
Featuring Katarina Widell on recorders and Patrik Karlsson on archlute, EN.D.E is an innovative and multifaceted ensemble with skill, boldness and new ways of using their baroque instruments. Together they’ve discovered and premiered Italian music from the 18th century and frequently commission and premiere works for archlute and recorder on tours in the United States, Japan and all over Europe.
Karlsson is a strong proponent for contemporary music and has premiered over 100 chamber works. He’s played and participated in several radio and TV-shows and has held master classes and seminaries at educational institutions such as the Royal Academy of Music, Scengymnasiet and Kulturama in Stockholm, and Temple University and West Chester University.
Widell is known for her great stage presence and challenging way of playing. Press reviews describe her as "a recorder tamer" and "master of the recorder." Her repertoire spans over one thousand years of western music and she is constantly seeking new repertoires and methods of interpretation. She graduated with high honors from the soloist diploma program at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm.
Admission is $10. Reserve tickets online at www.dccc.edu/concerts or call 610-359-5266. Cash-only tickets are available at the door.
