Piano Virtuoso Marilyn Nonken to Perform Music by French Composer
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA • March 3, 2011)—Delaware County Community College will kick off the spring semester portion of its Performing Arts Concert Series with a performance by premiere pianist Marilyn Nonken on March 6, 2011, 3 p.m. in the Large Auditorium (Academic Building).
Hailed by the American Record Guide as “one of the greatest interpreters of new music” and as “a pianist from music’s leading edge” by The New York Times, she has dazzled audiences around the globe with her mastery of the piano. She has performed in conservatories and universities around the world and in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Miller Theatre and the Guggenheim Museum. The program will focus on the music of French composer Tristan Murail, who has worked closely over the year with Ms. Nonken to create a stunning repertoire exploring the vast possibilities of the piano.
