Delaware County Community College Hosts Fourth Annual Engineering Career Day

 

(MEDIA, PA) In recognition of National Engineering Week (February 21-25), Delaware County Community College will host a multi-disciplinary “Engineering Career Day” on Thursday, February 24 at the Marple Campus - 901 South Media Line Road, Media, PA. Tours of the College will be available beginning at 4PM; the formal program begins promptly at 5 and ends at 8 PM.

Engineering Career Day, sponsored by The Boeing Company, will be held in the main lobby and large auditorium of the Academic Building and will feature keynote speaker, Leann Caret, Vice President, H-47 Programs, for The Boeing Company.

The opening presentation features overviews of the College's engineering and engineering-related programs as well as career opportunities for engineering graduates. In addition, representatives for the College's four-year institutional partners will be in attendance.

Along with participating schools and employers, members of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, The Engineers' Club of Philadelphia, The Society of Women Engineers, and the Delaware County Chapter of the PA Society of Professional Engineers will attend to share real-life experiences from their engineering careers.

Delaware County Community College offers both traditional and non-traditional engineering disciplines. This exciting and emergent field includes a spectrum of career choices, including architecture, manufacturing, electronics, computer networking, construction management and robotics, to name a few. The College offers Associate degrees in Engineering as well as a variety of certificates in Applied Engineering in many of the above-named programs.
