Letter to Staff from Dr. Joy Gates Black, College President, March 14, 12:33 p.m.
Dear Delaware County Community College Staff,
As promised, I am updating you on the College's evolving response to the COVID-19 Coronavirus. To balance the needs of our staff and students, we have decided that only essential staff will be required to report to work the week of March 16th. Therefore, Cabinet members will work with department leaders (and Human Resources, if necessary) to determine who have been identified as essential staff; those identified as such will be contacted via e-mail and/or phone. Please note that essential staff will only work a limited amount of hours while on campus; all other staff, pursuant to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), are expected to work remotely, if possible.
I know you have received several communications from me over the past week, but, as indicated previously, this is a fluid situation, and updates are sure to come at any time. For those of you who can, I urge you to check your e-mail regularly for important updates.
Dr. L. Joy Gates Black
