You are the voice and face of the institution. Exceptional customer service is central in the growth and success of business. Course emphasis is placed on communication, multicultural awareness  and diversity, technology, time management, and stress management as is relevant to the business industry. Upon completion, the student should be able to demonstrate the ability to handle customer relations.

Keep Talking:  An Introduction to Professional Voice Over
Explore aspects of voice-over work for television, film, radio, audio books, documentaries and the internet. Course covers all the basics of how to be successful in this exciting field and provides an opportunity to record a commercial script. Make money with your voice!

Public Speaking for Professionals
Even the most eloquent and experienced presenters often wish they had better public speaking skills. In this course, you will study methods that help to reduce anxiety, build confidence, and customize a process which will result in successful speaking experiences. This course is designed to equip you with knowledge of the principles necessary for formal public speaking with an emphasis on organization, evidence, language use, strategy, delivery and business ethics.

Individual Career Counseling
Covers in depth what you need to know about yourself and the labor market in order to take charge of your life and move ahead. Helps you focus on skills, preferences, values and motivations. Day and evening appointments are available.

Launch Your Career Comeback
Does the prospect of going back to work seem intimidating? Do you need help building your confidence and learning to accommodate family and future career obligations? If so, investing 10 weeks in Launch Your Career Comeback could help jump start your move toward a more satisfying life style. Identify your employable strengths and skills, your personality type preference and previous work experience. Enjoy the support and personal attention of this small group experience as you explore what fits your career needs now. With career tools and in-class exercises, you will increase your confidence and job search motivation. Learn to create a professional resume and develop a LinkedIn Profile. Group size is limited so you are encouraged to register no later than one week before the start date.

Jump-Start Your Career
Do you sometimes feel that you have reached a dead end in your career? Do you wonder how to get back on track? Jump-Start Your Career will guide you through a 10-week program to help you jump-start the process. You’ll begin by doing an in-depth personal assessment including motivated skills and career values. The Strong Interest Inventory will reveal your top ten occupations, and the Myers-Briggs Personality Indicator will help you to determine your personality preferences and work-related strengths. Group members will learn techniques for moving forward including networking, LinkedIn, and action planning. You are encouraged to register no later than one week before the start date.

First Steps
Confused about your career direction and unsure what to do first? This free, one-session workshop may be for you. A counselor will explain the wide variety of career counseling services available at the College for community residents. Learn how to use the Career Resource Center’s computer programs for career exploration and other materials.

New Choices Career Development Program

New Choices Career Development Program is a free service offered at Delaware County Community College. The program is designed to help single parents, displaced homemakers, and individuals in transition achieve economic security and self-sufficiency. The goal of the program is to empower individuals with career assessments, resume assistance, interview practice, 1:1 career guidance sessions, and networking opportunities so they may participate fully in planning and achieving their career, educational and personal goals while building self-confidence. Classes in computer basics supplement the program.
