What an honor it is to be an educator! My teaching philosophy reflects my passion for helping students understand how meaning is made through the interdependent, inter-actional nature of the communication process. As an educator, I see my role as teaching students how to critically analyze course material while applying and making meaning of the information in their everyday existence. In my classes, I use a variety of pedagogical approaches (e.g., cross-discipline, collaborative teaching/learning experiences and service-learning opportunities) to reinforce these goals. I also actively develop and cultivate conditions for learning by creating a sense of community within my classroom.
