I joined academia after working in the pharmaceutical industry for about 13 years. My industry experience has taught me the importance of a good grounded education and the need of a better "connection" between the theory and its application to solve problems in science. My primary goal in teaching is to empower students with self-confidence that comes from the realization that knowledge has been gained and can then be applied to understand and solve practical problems. I have my good share of research and teaching experience and I have plenty of practical examples that my students enjoy. I cherish the opportunity to bring these real-world experiences to the classroom to help my students relate to their learning and thus hopefully spark a love for science.
