If you are unsure if you are eligible to graduate due to not enough credits, failure to pass a class, etc., please go to Degree Works (delaGATE login required). This will show if you have completed everything necessary to earn your degree or what is still needed to qualify. If you are still having trouble determining if you are eligible, please contact your advisor. You may also attend one of the Commencement Fairs, where representatives will be on hand to help you determine eligibility.
The deadline to apply was March 15.
The College’s official attire consists of a cap, gown, hood and black tassel. If you are graduating with honors and a member of PTK, the PTK Honors stole can also be worn. There will be information on your delaGATE account explaining how to order your cap and gown or you may go to herffjones.com/college/dccc to place your order. You must order your cap and gown online between now and March 27. Pre-ordered caps and gowns will be available for pick up on May 1st and May 2nd. Caps and gowns that were not pre-ordered will be available for pick up on May 3rd in various sizes. The last day for pickup is May 22 for those not attending. If you need further assistance regarding your attire, you may contact the Bookstore at 610-359-5309 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Students at branch locations should contact the following people to pick up their cap and gown:
- Downingtown Campus - Janet Keith

- Pennocks Bridge Campus - Douglas Wolcik Kuhn
- Southeast Center - Bill Eichinger
- Upper Darby Center - Bill Eichinger
- Phoenixville Campus - Pick Up at Exton
Each graduate will receive three tickets and three announcements along with their cap and gown. Extra tickets are not available due to space. The tickets are for your invited guests and must be presented at the door for admission to the ceremony at West Chester University. All guests need a ticket, including children and infants. Announcements are not tickets and cannot be used for admission. Graduates themselves do not need a ticket.
If extra tickets are needed, students are encouraged to ask their friends or post a request for extra tickets on the College's Facebook page. Those students who will not use their ticket allotment are encouraged to tell their friends or post on Facebook if they have tickets to give away.
Cards will be available when you pick up your cap and gown. All cards must be filled out at that time. The College photographer, Grad Images, requests that all graduates complete a card regardless of whether or not they wish to purchase photographs. If you would like to pre-register, please click on the link below:
Students or guests with disabilities needing accommodations should contact Ann Binder at 610-325-2748 or email@example.com.
Just a reminder that all graduates and attendees are asked to please respect each other and West Chester University, which has so graciously agreed to host Delaware County Community College’s Commencement. This ceremony is first and foremost about our graduates. Please refrain from shouting, loud talking and rude behavior. Both graduates and attendees should remain seated during the reading of the graduates' names. Photography is permitted from your seats only, but please be mindful of not blocking the view of others who are nearby. After the ceremony, graduates will have the opportunity to purchase photos taken by a professional photographer contracted by the College. Thank you, family and friends for celebrating this very special occasion with our graduates and our College family.
Graduates should assemble at 9 a.m. sharp in the Ehinger Gymnasium. There will be signs and event staff to direct you where to go.
As you enter the gymnasium, you will pick up a name card. This card is what will be handed to the reader on stage and is the only way the reader will know who each graduate is. Graduates who do not participate in the ceremony will not have their names called. The name on your card will be exactly as you registered. You must remember to pick up your name card at the entrance to the gymnasium.
Signs will be posted indicating the location, by degree, of where to line up. Staff members will assist you and provide further instructioins. It is strongly recommended to leave any personal belongings with friends or relatives. Delaware County Community College will not be held responsible for any lost or stolen items although we will make every effort to protect them. Please wear comfortable shoes to maneuver the stairs and distance easily. Also, please silence or turn off all electronic devices.
Graduates who arrive late will not be seated in their area of discipline and their names will be called after the awarding of Certificates of Proficiency.
Attendance is not mandatory but these sessions will give graduates an idea of what to expect the night of graduation. Information sessions are held at the following campuses:

The official Phi Theta Kappa commencement attire is the gold honors stole. PTK students may purchase the stoles by going to the PTK website at www.ptk.org. Please be aware that the stole must be purchased prior to the night of graduation, they will not be available at the ceremony site. If you have any questions pertaining to the gold honors stole, please contact PTK at 610-359-5172 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
*Please note: All students who applied to graduate and who have picked up a cap and gown may take part in the Commencement ceremony, even if they do not receive a degree. In other words, students who planned to graduate but failed to qualify for a degree because of failing a course, failing to obtain a satisfactory grade point average, etc. in the present semester, may still participate in the ceremony to the same extent as those who will receive degrees. This should preclude any embarrassment that might ensue from a last-minute change of plans.
This PDF contains detailed information about the Ceremony.
The binder you receive on stage will not contain your diploma. A letter will be sent to all graduates notifying you when diplomas will be ready for pick up. Diplomas may be picked up at Marple Campus only. Diplomas must be picked up in person and appropriate identification is required. If you have any questions, please email email@example.com or call 610-359-5000.
Frames to fit your diploma may be purchased in the Bookstore. Order your diploma frame here.
