Office of Information Technology
The Office of Information Technology (OIT), was formed in
December 2007. OIT reports to George Sullivan, the VP and Chief Information Officer (CIO), of the Office of Information Technology. OIT is composed of the following areas: Web Services, Infrastructure Technical Team, Telecom, Server Operations & Support Team, Library Tech, Desktop Support/Media Services and the Banner Team. These departments fall under two areas within OIT. OIT Technical Services directed by Bianca Valente and OIT Support Services directed by Bob Hardcastle. The overall mission of the Office of Information Technology is to provide technical innovation and quality support for computer, network and telecommunication services for the DCCC community. OIT also works closely with other technology support areas such as the Learning Center, Faculty Technology Services, Distance Learning and the Library.
OIT Projects
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) works with various groups to identify specific requests from faculty,students and staff. This is in addition to on-going infrastructure upgrades that keep us up to date with technology for our various campus locations.
We currently are working on the following projects:
- On-line Admissions Application - We are developing an online application for three Admissions Applications.
- Windows 7 and Office 2010 Rollout.
- Administrative PC Refresh: We are replacing the oldest PCs and laptops that are of a certain age or model.
- Upgrading Founders Hall and the Academic building with faster and more functional wireless access points.
- Webstudy Improvements - new calendar, access to syllabi from the catalog and more features to come.
- Major construction and technology upgrade on the 3rd Floor of the Marple Academic Building: New classrooms, Provost office suite and upgraded open areas. All areas were equiped with latest technology in computers, audio/visual, networking and specialized equipment for faculty support and training.
Our future projects we will be working during the Spring 2012 term and over the summer are:
- Renovations at the Exton Campus,
- New Upper Darby Campus with classrooms, Learning Center, staff offices and latest technology
- Learning Commons - an integration of the Library and the Learning Center on the Marple campus
- Contact Center and PBX (telephone switch) upgrades.
