My book “The Celebrity Monarch: Empress Elisabeth and the Modern Female Portrait” (University of Delaware Press, 2023) examines how portraits of Empress Elisabeth of Austria (1837-1898) contributed to the development of modern female portraiture. In addition to my research on nineteenth-century female portraiture, I curate a yearly exhibition of contemporary art at the Delaware County Community College Gallery and coordinate our annual juried exhibition 215/610 CONTEMPORARY.
