Job Outlook

These skills are in great demand in today’s workplace resulting in high employer demand and a great career outlook! Trucking is the backbone of our economy, with more than 70% all domestic freight moving by truck. Last year alone trucks moved over 11 billion tons of freight—and moving that much freight requires a lot of drivers.

The U.S. Department of Labor reports that commercial driving is expected to grow 11 percent nationally through 2032. In the Philadelphia area alone there are more than a thousand[1] job openings for entry-level, CDL-A drivers, and the current estimated starting salary is well above $65,000[2].
