Program Description

Effective: Fall 2023

This certificate program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the occupational specialty of residential carpentry. It offers hands-on training that is designed to prepare individuals to become carpenters who can work in new home construction as well as perform maintenance and repairs to existing homes. Students are offered learning experiences in the basics of blueprint reading, framing, roofing, interior finishing, flooring, and other related carpentry skills.

Resource Spotlight – The Advanced Technology Center (ATC) offers 32,000 square feet of classroom and laboratory space where students prepare for a wide range of in-demand occupations, from traditional trades to high-tech engineering technology programs. Students learn using the latest tools and equipment in automotive technology, CAD/CAM, carpentry, residential and commercial electrical, electronics, HVAC, industrial systems, machine tool technology, plumbing, robotics, and welding.
