(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA)—Interested in developing mobile apps? Want to study hot-button issues like immigration? Looking to learn a new language? Do all of this and more by taking one of the new courses being offered this fall at Delaware County Community College.
Whether you’re looking to begin an associate degree or certificate program, or just want to get ahead in your professional career, there’s a course for you. Our new fall lineup covers a range of topics and includes online and on-campus classes as well as day and evening courses to fit your busy schedule.
As part of two new certificate programs, courses will be offered in Culinary Arts and Mobile Computing. Fall culinary offerings include Baking & Pastry Foundations I, Professional Cooking I and Nutrition & the Hospitality Industry. Those interested in developing mobile applications for iPhone and Android phones can choose from several courses offered on developing apps and can earn an Associate in Applied Science with an option in Mobile Computing as well.
Those interested in studying multicultural issues will want to check out Sociology of Race and Immigration and Chicana/o Literature. The latter will introduce students to a broad spectrum of forms, genres and authors beginning with the Mexican-American War through to present day. Sociology of Race and Immigration focuses on the history of race and immigration and examines group dynamics and access to power. Students will evaluate and explore their own cultural viewpoints and experiences as well.
Also, for the first time and in response to high demand, an Elementary Chinese course will be offered on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Students will learn the fundamentals of Mandarin so they can develop competency in listening, speaking, reading and writing the language.
Classes are filling quickly, so apply today. Fall registration ends on Wednesday, August 22. To register, visit www.dccc.edu/fall or call 1-877-912-DCCC (3222).
