(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA)—Delaware County Community College’s SpectiCast series continues with an HD broadcast of Georges Bizet’s Carmen on Sunday, January 20, 2013, at 2 p.m. The performance will be shown in the Large Auditorium in the Academic Building on the Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA).
Bizet’s Carmen is reputed to be the most famous opera in the world. Maestro Daniel Barenboim presents his musical view on this classic opera in this SpectiCast performance. Serving in the title role is Marina Domashenko, whose rich mezzo soprano voice makes her ideal to play Carmen.
Now in its third year, the College’s SpectiCast series brings the classical realm of music, dance and opera closer to home for residents of Delaware and Chester Counties. Each performance is produced using a state-of-the-art audiovisual system and is choreographed to capture the fullness of the orchestral performance and the intimacy of the on-stage experience.
Admission is $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $7.50 for students and children. Tickets must be purchased with cash and are available at the door. Tickets will go on sale 45 minutes prior to each show. For more information, please call 610-359-5266 or visit www.dccc.edu/the-arts.
