(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA • April 25, 2017)—Delaware County Community College’s New Choices Career Development Program invites graduates, friends and community members to celebrate its 35th anniversary on Wednesday, May 10 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Cheers to Success will be held in the Academic Café on the College’s Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA).
New Choices is a community resource that has helped thousands of residents in Delaware and Chester Counties reach their goal of obtaining employment and increasing their economic security. “The program has a long and wonderful history of helping women and men in the community identify their strengths, regain their confidence and create a path to career and personal success,” says Sandy Gera, Director. “This event allows us to celebrate the achievements of our graduates and support the ongoing needs of the program.”
Cheers to Success includes raffles to support the program along with a wine and chocolate tasting, appetizers, desserts and music. State Representative Leanne Krueger-Braneky will also speak briefly about the 100-year anniversary of “Silent Sentinels,” the suffragists who contributed significantly to the ratification of the 19th Amendment and women’s constitutional right to vote through peaceful protest. Plus, the New Choices Alumna of the Year award will be presented to Rose Miller, a 2006 graduate of the program who is now employed with American Airlines as a Compliance Analyst for Cabin Appearance (Team Leader).
“Thanks to the support and guidance from the staff of New Choices I completed college and found a great career,” says Miller. “I credit the program with getting me back on track and helping me find success. I don’t know where I would be today if I hadn’t attended New Choices.”
Tickets are $25 for New Choices graduates, $35 for others. Register at: newchoices.ticketleap.com/cheers. For more information, call 610-359-5232, email newchoices@dccc.edu or visit www.dccc.edu/newchoices.
