(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA • April 15, 2016)—Delaware County Community College’s New Choices Career Development Program is hosting an alumni event on May 5 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at DiFabio’s (1243 N Providence Road, Media, PA) to celebrate 34 years of service to the community. Since 1982, New Choices has helped thousands of women and men reestablish their lives and find employment through its classes, career counseling and job search services.
At the event, Theresa Agostinelli, MSW, LCSW, will receive the program’s first Alumna of the Year award. Agostinelli, owner and CEO of Glen Mills Counseling Center, is a 1997 graduate of New Choices and a 1999 graduate of the College. She is also a member of the Delaware County Board of Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities and serves on the Advisory Board of the Delaware County Children and Youth Mental Health Cabinet as well as the Delaware County Suicide Prevention Task Force. She is a certified Chaplain with the Delaware County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Program and is the former Chair and a current Commissioner of the Delaware County Women’s Commission.
Pennsylvania State Representative William F. Adolph Jr. will also be honored as a long-time supporter of the program. Adolph was first elected to represent Delaware County’s 165th Legislative District in 1988 and is now serving his 14th term.
Attendees will have the opportunity to network with alumni, friends and supporters of the program while enjoying great food and raffles. The cost is $20 for New Choices alumni, $25 for others. All proceeds will benefit the New Choices program.
“It’s a great time for alumni, friends and supporters of the program to come together to share their experiences, network, celebrate many years of achievement and support new graduates,” says Sandy Gera, Director.
