(Delaware/Chester
County, PA) The annual Lou Scott Golf Classic, now in its eleventh year, is
scheduled for Tuesday, June 7. The event will be held at The Golf Course at
Glen Mills – rain or shine. Registration begins at 10:30 AM. The shotgun start
begins at noon.
The annual outing is a tribute to
Lou Scott, former principal of Penncrest High School, who passed away in 2000. Scott
was the special assistant to the president of Delaware County Community College
at the time of his death. Proceeds from the outing provide scholarship support
primarily for Penncrest High School students. Students from other high schools
who attend Delaware County Community College are also eligible.
A Tiger Woods autographed AT&T National Flag
and a 2011 AT&T National Pro Am Tournament Spot will be auctioned at the
Awards Banquet following the event. To place an advance bid, please visit dccc.edu/LSGC2011. Proceeds
will benefit the Delaware County Community College Educational Foundation.
The Lou Scott Golf Classic attracts members
of the Scott family, friends and colleagues, as well as many of the College’s
constituents. The outing has raised more than $131,000 to date and has provided
46 scholarships to Delaware County Community College since 2001.
The fee for an individual golfer is
$200, $500 for a twosome (with hole sponsor) and $1,000 for a foursome (with
hole sponsor). The Golf Course at Glen Mills is nationally ranked in the top
10, and first in Pennsylvania by Golf Digest (in 2003, 2004, 2005) as a new
upscale daily fee golf course.
