(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA)—The Gallery at Delaware County Community College presents the annual AFA Foundations Exhibition, featuring the work of students taking Foundations Art courses in the Art Gallery, located in Room 2305 in the Academic Building on the College’s Marple Campus (901 South Media Line Road, Media, PA 19063).
There will be a special Opening Reception on Thursday, September 11 at 11 a.m. in the Art Gallery (Room 2305) on the Marple Campus. Light refreshment will be provided.
While many of the student artists are enrolled in DCCC’s Art + Design Foundations Certificate program or the Associate in Fine Arts (AFA) program in Studio Art, Graphic Design or Photography, the exhibit is unique in that not all students featured are Art majors, since many Art first-year courses at DCCC can be taken without any Art prerequisites.
The Gallery at DCCC is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be additional extended hours for Delco Arts Week; please check dccc.edu/gallery for details. The work included in the exhibition is chosen by the program’s current full-time Art faculty. This year, the full-time faculty also chose an independent an independent juror to select the exceptional pieces from the work in the exhibition to receive Purchase and Honorable Mention awards. The awards are funded by the College’s Educational Foundation and the Athletics and Campus Engagement Office.
