(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA – July 25, 2024)—The Gallery at Delaware County Community College presents the first event of its new Summer Community Exhibition Series, the 2024 Senior Community Services Art Show “A Melody of Creativity,” July 31 through August 21.
This annual exhibition features the work of 73 artists from the Senior Community Services classes offered to seniors through the Center Without Walls program and at their four centers: Schoolhouse, Chester Senior Center, Good Neighbor, and Friendship Circle.
The opening reception is Wednesday, July 31 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Art Gallery, located in Room 2305 in the Academic Building on the College’s Marple Campus (901 South Media Line Road, Media, PA 19063). Refreshments will be served, and the event is free and open to the public. The exhibit will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Senior Community Services is a community-based organization which offers an abundance of programs directly serving the aging population in the service area of Delaware County. Founded in 1977, SCS is the largest provider of services to Delaware County’s older residents and their families and operates four national accredited senior centers in the area. The Gallery at Delaware County Community College hosts up to six visual art exhibitions each year, showcasing the work of students, community members and professional artists of national and international reputation.
