(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA – May 11, 2023)—From cooking to construction to coding, there is something to appeal to almost every child or young teen’s interest at Summer Kids Camps at Delaware County Community College. Camps start June 20 (Tuesday due to the holiday) and run through August 3. Camps will be held Monday through Thursday because during the summer months the College is closed on Fridays.
This year, the College offers Summer Kids Camps in Acting for the Camera, Arts & Crafts, Babysitter Training with CPR & First Aid Certification, Beginner Piano, Coding, Cooking, Dance, Digital Photography, Intro to Film and TV, Kids Construction, LEGO®-Simple Machines and Smartphone Photography. Age requirements for camps vary, but there are options available for ages six to 14.
Unemployed caregivers in Delaware County can apply for up to $1,000 in credits toward a child’s summer camp fees thanks to the Delaware County Council’s approval of the Delco Strong Summer Camp Solution.
The program helps reduce barriers experienced by caregivers who are struggling to find work—a situation made more challenging by the summer closure of schools and the difficulty in finding adequate childcare.
The College has held Summer Kids Camps for more than 16 years and youth programs since 1996. Register online or by calling 610-359-5025.
