(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA)—With a tough schedule in one of the most competitive intercollegiate regions in the country, the DCCC Phantoms men’s basketballl team opened its season November 3 with a 57-56 win over Anne Arundel Community College.
The team is led by two-time All-Philadelphia Public League selection Chace White, a 2026 graduate of Motivation High School in Philadelphia. White averaged an impressive 34 points per game during his high school career. He is majoring in Business Administration.
“Chace will look to provide DCCC with an immediate spark offensively and bring his scoring ability to the Phantoms this season,” says DCCC Director of Athletics and Men’s Head Basketball Coach Dwayne Saunders.
Also expected to contribute at a high level this year is Khaden Daley, a sophomore transfer from NCAA Division III Carlow University, where he was a high achieving student-athlete. Daley hails from Swiftwater, Pa. and is a graduate of Pocono Mountain East High School. He is majoring in Business Administration.
“Khaden brings valuable collegiate experience to the DCCC men’s basketball program. He looks to make an immediate impact with his toughness, perimeter shooting ability, and leadership on and off the court,” Saunders says. “We are excited to welcome both Chace and Khaden to the Phantoms family.”
Delaware County native Saunders is in his fourth consecutive year in a role he also held from 2010-2013, when he posted a 55-22 overall win-loss record and the team won the 2011-2012 Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference (EPCC) Championship.
The DCCC Phantoms will compete in the 26-team Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Region 19, considered one of the most competitive regions in the nation at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III level.
The Phantoms will play their home games at FiDonce Gymnasium, site of the former St. James High School, at 215 E 21st St, Chester, PA 19013, about 20 minutes from the College’s Marple Campus in Media. Following its season opener on Nov. 3, the team will visit Montgomery County Community College (Pa.) on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. and return home to face Williamson College of the Trades on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m.
