(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA)—Delaware County Community College and Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School recently signed a High School Dual Enrollment (HDSE) Structured Pathways program agreement that enables Bonner & Prendie students to attend DCCC and earn college credits while still in high school, at no cost to them and their families.

It is the first Structured Pathways agreement between DCCC and a private high school. Bonner & Prendie will cover the costs for the 14 students. The College has similar Structured Pathways agreements with five public high schools in Delaware and Chester Counties.

“This unique relationship will allow our students to truly get ahead with their post-secondary plans while saving money and time, as well as enhance their ability to be ready for college when that time comes,” said Bonner & Prendie President Dr. John Cooke.

“Together, DCCC and Bonner & Prendie are aligning courses, advising, and exploring career paths so every student can step confidently into college and the workforce,” added Bonner & Prendie Principal Andrea Ciliberti.

“Dual enrollment gives families peace of mind—knowing their student isn’t just earning college credit, but also following a clear plan that saves money, shortens time to a degree, and builds confidence for the future,” said  Gina Macklin, DCCC’s Vice President of Enrollment Management.

DCCC’s Business Academy Structured Pathway is a two-year program that enables high school students to earn 24 credits toward an associate degree in Business Administration. The Pre-Nursing Structured Pathway is  a two-year program in which students can earn 23 college credits, 16 of which are applied toward an associate degree in Health Studies and 14 of which meet the prerequisite requirements to petition for entry into DCCC’s low-cost associate degree in Applied Science, Nursing program.

This fall 14 Bonner & Prendie students are currently enrolled in the two programs and will take classes in the afternoon at DCCC’s Upper Darby Center. In Spring 2026, they will be able to attend classes right next door—at the College’s new multimillion-dollar education and workforce training facility at the site of the former Archbishop Prendergast High School.

Additionally, seven additional Bonner & Prendie students are enrolled in DCCC’s Open Dual Enrollment program this fall. DCCC’s HDSE gives eligible high school students the opportunity to earn college credits while they are still in high school. The College offers:

  • Open Dual Enrollment—Qualified high school sophomores, juniors and seniors enroll in college courses at one of Delaware County Community College’s locations or online.
  • Structured Dual Enrollment Pathways—Qualified high school students may enroll in a special structured program to earn college credit towards an associate degree and/or certificate while in high school. Only select high schools participate.
  • College In the High School/Concurrent Dual Enrollment—Qualified high school students can earn college credit for select courses taught at their high school by vetted faculty.

Depending on high school participation, high school students may participate in College in the High School or a Structured Pathways program. However, any eligible high school student may participate in Open Dual Enrollment. For more information, visit dccc.edu/dualenrollment.
