(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA • November 14, 2016)—Delaware County Community College’s student-led Women in STEM Club sponsored a TechGirlz workshop on Saturday, November 5th at the Marple Campus. Eleven middle school girls from across Delaware County participated in a C++ Coding workshop led by Women in STEM Club student members: instructor Scott Duffy, a computer science major, and teaching assistant Bridget Rose, an engineering major. Francis Bongiavanni, a teaching assistant from TechGirlz, also participated in the event.
TechGirlz is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the gender gap in technology occupations and empowering girls to be future technology leaders. Delaware County Community College is a leader in STEM education and is committed to encouraging and supporting female students in STEM programs.
