(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA – September 18, 2024)—Delaware County Community College is expanding to a 15-member Board of Trustees and as such is seeking two (2) candidates to fill those positions. The positions would be six-year terms that end on June 30, 2030.

Applicants for this volunteer position must reside in one of the College’s sponsoring districts: Chester-Upland; Garnet Valley (residents of Bethel Township); Haverford; Interboro; Radnor; Ridley; Rose Tree Media; Southeast Delco; Springfield; Upper Darby; Wallingford-Swarthmore (residents of Swarthmore and Rutledge); and William Penn. Residents of the 12 sponsoring school districts that provide financial support to the College pay reduced tuition. Current sitting school board members, officers or solicitors from the sponsoring school districts are not eligible to apply for these Board of Trustees vacancies.
The College seeks candidates who have the following attributes: an involvement in and understanding of our community and its educational and employment needs; an enthusiasm for the mission of community colleges; a willingness to commit time for board meetings, committee meetings, planning sessions and special events; a strong ability to listen thoughtfully to others’ points of view and bring wise judgment to complex matters; and a desire to be an ambassador for the College within the community.
The Board of Trustees is responsible for ensuring that Delaware County Community College offers educational programs and services that are accessible, comprehensive, community-centered and flexible. The Board also appoints the College’s president and approves overall policies and fees.
Delaware County Community College has five locations in Delaware and Chester Counties and provides education and training via in-person, online and hybrid learning modalities.
