(Delaware County, PA)—Delaware County Community College will officially open its Upper Darby Center, the College’s eighth location in Delaware and Chester counties, on September 14, 2012. The new Center provides easy access to quality, affordable education and training to residents of Upper Darby, Drexel Hill, Highland Park and neighboring communities.
Featuring seven classrooms, a Learning Resource room and a student lounge, the Center offers day and evening courses, including classes leading to an associate degree in Liberal Arts, Allied Health, Communications, Business Administration, or Education. The Center also offers courses in English as a Second Language, GED and SAT Prep. The Center has the capacity to serve up to 1,800 students.
WHAT: Invitation-Only, Official Opening Event for the Upper Darby Center. Scheduled speakers include:
- Margo L. Davidson, State Representative, 164th District
- Thomas N. Micozzie, Mayor, Upper Darby Township
- Neilda E. Mott, Vice Chair, Board of Trustees, Delaware County Community College
- Dr. Jerry S. Parker, President, Delaware County Community College
- Richard Bulla, Clifton Heights resident; student, Delaware County Community College
