Delaware and Chester Counties, PA – January 17, 2025)—Delaware County Community College will present a special lecture and musical event in honor of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Thursday, January 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the College’s Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA 19063). The event will begin at 6 p.m. with live music and continue at 7 p.m. with a lecture by Civil Rights historian Chanelle N. Rose, Ph.D., associate professor and coordinator of Africana Studies at Rowan University, and the author of “The Struggle for Black Freedom in Miami: Civil Rights and America’s Tourist Paradise, 1896-1968” (LSU Press, 2015).
Dr. Rose will share reflections on the contributions of ordinary individuals in South Florida’s Black Freedom Struggle.
