Officials from Delaware County Community College and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts sign a new student transfer agreement at Delaware County Community College’s Marple Campus
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA • February 3, 2017)—Delaware County Community College and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts signed an articulation agreement today that will enable qualified students to transfer seamlessly from the community college into the four-year art school located in Center City Philadelphia.
Students who maintain at least a “C” average in each course and who graduate from Delaware County Community College’s Studio Arts program with an associate in fine arts degree are eligible to transfer up to 63 credits in fine arts and/or liberal arts to the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Students are eligible to transfer into the school’s bachelor of fine arts program.
Qualified students will be required to submit a portfolio representative of their work. The portfolio serves as a visual transcript that helps Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts faculty determine the student’s skill level. The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts has agreed to waive its application fee. Scholarships for students attending full-time are available for students who maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average.
The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts bachelor of fine arts program pairs demanding studio training with fine-arts focused liberal arts education.
