Upon request Professor Maria Boyd offers a part 2 continuation of her LGBTQ+ History in Popular Culture presentation. In the past twenty years film, television, music video games and social media have provided an unprecedented amount of space for LGBTQ+ representation. This session surveys the current entertainment landscape, explores how media operates as a mirror of society and asks what we can learn from both fictional characters and out content creators.
