Face Coverings

Face coverings are required for all students, faculty, staff and visitors to the College in all indoor, public spaces. Face masks may be removed when eating and in private offices (if the employee is alone). No food or beverages are allowed in classrooms.

If a student or employee does not comply with wearing a mask, a member of the College community (Security, faculty member, or any other College staff member) will politely remind the individual of the requirement to always wear a mask while on campus. If the student or employee agrees to wear a mask, they will be allowed to remain on campus.

If an individual refuses to wear a mask, Security will discreetly escort the individual off campus. Students who do not comply will be referred to the College’s Office of Student Conduct; employees who do not comply will be referred to Human Resources by their supervisor.


Sanitizing and Cleaning Protocols

All students and employees should wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout all College campuses/centers.

The College will continue with the enhanced cleaning protocols to include, but not limited to, the cleaning of classrooms, laboratories and computer labs between classes.


Social Distancing

For the Fall 2021 semester, the College will move to three (3) feet of social distancing, in all classrooms and locations, with the exception of the Allied Health and Nursing and the Workforce and Economic Development Divisions which will return to full capacity.


Health Screening and Contact Tracing

The College has migrated to a new myDCCC mobile app which was released on July 1, 2021. The app includes a module for contact tracing and health screening. That module has not been activated but can be deployed in the future should the need arise.

The College will not be conducting contact tracing. Delaware County is in the process of establishing a Health Department, however until that process is complete, contact tracing for Delaware County continues to be handled by the Chester County Health Department.

Unvaccinated students or employees who are experiencing COVID-like symptoms or have been in close contact with someone experiencing COVID-like symptoms, will be required to quarantine at home for 14 days, and not return to the College until they are feeling healthy again. Close contact is defined as anyone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period, for example, three individual 5-minute exposures for a total of 15 minutes; or you provided care at home to someone who is sick with COVID-19; or you had direct physical contact (i.e., hugging, kissing, sharing eating utensils) with someone who has COVID-19; or someone with COVID-19 coughed or sneezed on you or somehow got respiratory droplets on you. It is important to note that wearing a mask during the time of exposure does not change any of these definitions.

Fully vaccinated students or employees with an exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 are not required to quarantine if they:

  1. are fully vaccinated two (2) weeks following receipt of either the second dose in a two-dose series or one dose of a single-dose vaccine, and
  2. have remained asymptomatic since the current COVID-19 exposure

Note: Fully vaccinated students and employees who do not quarantine should still watch for symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days following an exposure to COVID-19. Students or employees who are fully vaccinated and are experiencing COVID-like symptoms after exposure should quarantine until symptoms resolved.

Procedures for Positive COVID-19 Diagnosis

COVID-19 Positive Student

  1. Faculty who are meeting in a traditional classroom or hybrid modality will: Immediately notify their dean (full-time faculty) or assistant dean (adjunct faculty)
  2. The dean or assistant dean will contact all the students in the class, copy the faculty member and notify the student to quarantine
  3. CDC guidelines recommend to quarantine for 14 days. Quarantine can end after Day 10 if no symptoms are reported
  4. Class will continue in a virtual modality until the quarantine period ends

COVID Positive Faculty and Staff

Staff and faculty who are diagnosed with COVID-19 should immediately notify their supervisor or dean, who will contact Greg Bockman in Human Resources to determine how best to assist the staff or faculty member. Adjunct faculty should notify their assistant dean to follow the same process.


COVID-19 Vaccinations

Vaccination will not be required for students, faculty, staff or visitors for the Fall 2021 semester. However, as of January 1, 2022, proof of vaccination will be required for students, faculty, staff and visitors.

The College is in the process of securing a vaccine clinic at one or more College locations. More information will be provided as it becomes available.


Mental Health and Well-Being

The College has resources available to help support mental and emotional well-being. Students in need of assistance should contact the Career and Counseling Center. Employees in need of assistance should contact the College’s Employee Assistance Program.
