The College is now offering two non-credit to credit career pathways in Medical Administration and Information Technology. These are year-long programs that allow students to obtain multiple certifications in a shorter amount of time. Students start out in non-credit classes, then upon successful completion, are give credit toward credited certification programs, which they complete during the second semester. These credits can also eventually be applied toward degree programs at Delaware County Community College.


  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a high school diploma or high school equivalency certification
  • Must be a citizen or resident alien of the United States 
  • Must have a demonstrated need for training and be willing to commit to a year-long program

Medical administration is one of the fastestgrowing careers in America. By becoming a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA), you can quickly earn the nationally recognized credentials healthcare employers are searching for. You will have the opportunity to receive one or two nationally recognized and respected certifications. > The 19-credit Medical Billing certificate program provides students with the skills necessary to function as medical billers for all types of healthcare institutions. The curriculum includes medical terminology, health informatics, analysis of coded data used on claims for reimbursement, and principles of medical billing

• Correctly code procedures and diagnoses using correct medical terminology and correct ICD and CPT codes.

• Describe the follow-up process with insurance companies and patients regarding unpaid bills.
• Describe the major health care organizations and agencies and their role in the healthcare delivery system.

The CompTIA A+ program prepares students for a career as a computer technician repairing personal computers and also serves as a strong foundation course. Through hands-on training, students learn the core technical skills required to build a sustainable career in IT. According to Microsoft, these credentials will demonstrate that you have the primary set of Windows Server 2016 skills, relevant across multiple solution areas in a business environment, to reduce IT costs and deliver more business value. > This certificate option provides individuals with a knowledge base and skillset aimed at exposing students to various types of computers and networking devices, network connectivity and communications, current industry standard client and server operating systems, and networking security concepts. The program is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment as Networking Support Technicians.
