Student Government Association
Welcome to the Student Government Association (SGA) of Delaware County Community College.
What is the SGA?
The SGA is the voice of the College’s students. We represent students’ concerns and act on their behalf. SGA also serves the Delaware County community by sponsoring service projects and encouraging students to get involved. SGA members represent the College at both local and national conferences.
How do I become a member of the SGA?
We are always looking for enthusiastic students with an interest in serving the College.
Students with a GPA of at least 2.0 are welcome to join SGA. Contact the Campus Life Office.
How does the SGA help students?
SGA is here to serve you and express your needs. We listen to your concerns and suggestions and put them into action. We can bring your voice to the administration, faculty and Board of Trustees. SGA helps to plan and promote many student activities on campus, including:
Student Activities Expo
Multicultural Festival
Springfest
Awards Banquet
SGA is also involved with the community. We promote and conduct several service projects every year, including:
Voter Registration
Thanksgiving Food Drive
Toys for Tots
Adopt-a-highway
How does the SGA operate?
The SGA consists of: Executive Council (five officers), Member Body (general members) and Advisors.
Students from the Member Body are appointed to sit on each of the College Advisory System (CAS) Committees. Members also work with the Executive Council and the Campus Life Office to discuss concerns, plan projects and respond to issues.
What is the Executive Council?
The Executive Council of SGA is the nucleus of the student government structure. It oversees the general meetings of the SGA and coordinates information from the Campus Life Office, the Athletics Office and other independent sources. Executive Council members must have a 2.5 GPA.
