Jacob Czaja, Studio Art
My work consists of Illustrations, paintings and digital media, which is usually on small or easel sized surface, but I occasionally go larger too. The work could be landscapes or portraits, but they almost always depict some sort of scene. These stories come from a wild imagination taking inspiration from comics, ligature, movies or video games I am interested in. How this these wildly imaginative stories are conveyed depends a little on the medium, but the common features of my work include lot of linework, areas of high contrast, vivid color palettes and thick brushstrokes. The visual storytelling in my work, depicts senses that tell an imagined, though definite, story. There isn’t a whole lot of abstraction to my work, and I just think it’s cool.
