Academic Programs
- What types of degrees are offered?
- What majors does the school offer?
- Do they have strong programs in your potential major/minors?
- What is the reputation/ranking of this college/university?
- Is there an option to take a minor?
- Does the school offer career exploration classes?
- What percentage of graduates in your major are employed in their field?
- Based on GPA and standardized test scores, is admission realistic.
Affordability
- What are the costs? Tuition, room/board, housing, and food?
- Will the school do a financial aid pre-estimate for you?
- Will someone in the financial aid office assist you with forms?
- Are there any scholarships available to you?
- Is it affordable to attend this school without scholarships or financial aid?
Class Access
- Are there online, distance learning, or evening courses you can take?
- Can classes be completed through a study abroad program?
- What types of programs do they have to help with internship opportunities, career plan-ning and development?
Extra-curricular Activities
- What student clubs, extracurricular activities, and Greek organizations do they offer?
- Are there any sports teams you can join?
- How easy would it be to create a club?
Safety
- How is the school rated nationally and regionally for safety?
- What safety precautions does the college take to ensure students safety on campus?
- Ask students on campus how they feel about their safety (at night, weekends, etc.
Distance from Home
- Is this a commuter school or do students usually stay on campus?
- Are there other types of transportation (trolley, bus, vans, taxi, etc.) available for students?
- Can you bring a car to campus?
- Is there a parking facility? If so, what is the cost?
Residence Halls & Dining
- Ask to visit a residence hall (preferably when school is in session)
- How are the residence hall monitored?
- Safety-are doors locked at night, is there a key or key-less entry system during evening and early morning hours?
- Can the school assist you with finding off-campus housing?
- Is there a dining plan?
- Can you opt out of the dining plan, if so, what meal options do you have?

- Why did you pick this school and are you happy with your decision?
- What do I need to know about this school that isn’t in the brochure?
- What are the strengths and weaknesses of this school?
