III. ACADEMIC GUIDELINES:
TRANSFER OF CREDITS
- Subject to Peirce approval, a student transferring to Peirce under this Agreement may have junior status upon completion of the specific requirements for the degree programs listed in the current Peirce College Catalog.
- To maximize the transferability and minimize courses required by Peirce the prerequisites for these specific Peirce concentrations are listed in the Peirce College Catalog. The equivalent course at DCCC meeting the Peirce prerequisite course requirements may be found by contacting the Peirce College Admissions office. As degree requirements change, it is advisable to obtain the most current degree requirements. It is not required that a student fulfills these prerequisites before transferring to Peirce but it will decrease his/her requirements after transfer.
- Subject to Peirce’s approval, a student transferring to Peirce under this Agreement shall receive Peirce course credit for courses completed at other regionally accredited colleges or universities, which are applicable to a degree program at Peirce, in which the student earned at least a grade of “C,” subject to the maximum number of allowable transfer credits (30 for an Associate degree and 90 for a Bachelor’s degree) under Peirce’s program, and the credits are equivalent of our 3 semester credits.
- Peirce reserves the right to refuse to grant a student transfer credit for computer science and other technical courses completed by the student more than three (3) years prior to transfer into a Peirce degree program.
- Course credit given to a student by DCCC for completing a DCCC course(s) in professional or life experience is only transferable to Peirce if the content of such course(s) is applicable to a Peirce degree program. Peirce reserves the right to refuse to grant a student transfer credit for such courses.
CURRICULUM REQUIREMENTS
A student transferring from DCCC to Peirce enters Peirce under the curriculum requirements and articulation agreement guidelines in effect at the time that the student was accepted and enrolled at Peirce.
CHANGES IN PEIRCE CURRICULUM REQUIREMENTS
In the event a particular program of study at Peirce changes such that additional prerequisites may need to be completed by a student, a student accepted for admission to Peirce under this Agreement must complete such courses upon the direction of the Faculty Chair of the applicable Peirce degree program.
