Dotty Russo
Professor of Mathematics
Dotty Russo, a highly credentialed professor of mathematics, taught higher-level math courses until a colleague suggested that she seemed ideally suited for entry-level classes. Trading calculus for whole numbers, Professor Russo now teaches Basic Mathematics and Developmental Mathematics. She focuses her efforts on students who are not quite ready for college-level math.
Professor Russo’s students fall into two camps: those who avoided math and science in high school and those who have been away from school so long that they have forgotten everything they learned in the first place.
"It’s important for them to be welcome here and start wherever their skills are.”
Whatever the circumstances, Professor Russo meets her students where they are.
