Department of Safety & Security at DCCC
- Based at Marple Campus and provides 24/7 security services at Marple campus.
- Officers on duty at Southeast Center, Downingtown Center, and Pennocks Bridge Center during operational hours.
- All officers certified in CPR/AED.
- In the case of a medical emergency, injured persons are taken to local hospitals by ambulance.
- Officers do not have arrest powers but support local police as needed.
- Emergency Telephones are located throughout all College locations and in all elevators. There are also emergency telephones located in the parking lots on the Marple Campus, Southeast Center and Downingtown Center locations.
- AEDs are available where officers are on duty; equipped with audible alarms. Locations are as follows:
- Marple Campus: Founders Hall Second floor near the Cafeteria; Academic Building Main lobby by the Large Auditorium; STEM Building by the Fitness Center; Advanced Technology Center front lobby
- Downingtown and Southeast Centers: at the Security desk in the Main lobbies
• Pennocks Bridge Center: in the Nurse’s area

Campus Safety Tips
- Protect Yourself:

- Avoid walking alone, especially in isolated or dark areas.
- Utilize security escorts offered on campus.
- Carry bags securely and avoid displaying valuables.
- Dress sensibly for easier movement.
- Check surroundings before entering your car.
- Attach a mirror inside your trunk for visibility.
- If followed, change direction and seek crowded areas.
- In case of threat, cooperate and alert campus security.

- Always lock your car and park in well-lit areas.
- Store valuables in the trunk to deter theft.
- Protect Your Property:
- Never leave belongings unattended in public areas.
- Secure personal items when not in use.
Parking and Traffic Regulations
- Student Parking:
- Restricted to general parking areas: lots A through H and J through O.
- Prohibited in faculty/staff areas, fire lanes, curb lines, grassy areas, and loading docks.
- Handicapped Parking:
- Reserved for vehicles with valid handicap permits.
- Temporary permits available for temporary disabilities.
- Permit allows parking in designated spaces when handicap area is full.
- Visitor Parking:
- Visitors must use general parking lots labeled Blue or Gold.
- Towing Policy:
- Vehicles may be towed for overnight parking without permission, traffic hazards, unpaid tickets, or impeding College functions.
- Request for overnight parking permission required from Safety and Security Director.
- Appeals Process:
- Tickets for violations can be appealed within 10 days of issuance.
