Awards, Recognitions and Internal Grants

The Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching was established by the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Foundation. Mr. Lindback was the president and principal owner of Abbotts Dairies Inc. and a trustee of Bucknell University. The Foundation created the award to honor excellence in training activities and superior teaching skills of a full-time tenured faculty member from colleges or universities within the dairy’s service area of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia.

The Delaware County Community College Educational Foundation supports monetary awards for adjunct faculty each year. The awards are to recognize distinguished contributions and are awarded to faculty who demonstrate superior teaching skills and make other exceptional contributions to the College.

The Educational Foundation Mini-Grant program promotes excellence in teaching and student learning by supporting projects that foster student success, have measurable, student-centered outcomes, and support the mission and Strategic Plan Priorities of the College. Faculty are invited to compete for available grants each fiscal year with awards ranging from $500 to $2000 (approximately).

Students, parents, and peers are all encouraged to nominate full- or part-time faculty members that are known for their outstanding performance in the classroom. This coveted award is announced annually with nominations solicited usually in the month of April, and a winner announced in May.
