The Carter Center – Professional Development

Professional Development

At Delaware County Community College (DCCC), professional development is more than a service, it’s a shared commitment to excellence. In partnership with the College’s Professional Development Committee, The Carter Center for Excellence strives to foster a culture of continuous learning that empowers faculty and staff to grow, innovate, and lead by offering sessions and facilitating in-service days.

Professional development at DCCC is:

  • Student-Centered: Focused on enhancing teaching practices and student outcomes, including achievement, engagement, and retention.
  • Inclusive and College-Wide: Designed for all employees across all campuses and disciplines.
  • Dynamic and Supportive: Offering tailored programs, resources, and mentorship to support both new and experienced educators.
  • Flexible and Accessible: We offer professional development in multiple formats, including in-person, hybrid, online, and on-demand so participants can learn at their own pace and convenience.
  • Collaborative: Encouraging communication and shared learning across departments to build a strong, connected community of learners.
  • Forward-Thinking: Promoting innovation in pedagogy, technology, and organizational practices to meet the evolving needs of our diverse student population.

Professional development sessions are offered in both individual and group formats, during scheduled professional development days or arranged as needed. By investing in professional development, DCCC ensures that every employee has the tools and support needed to grow personally, professionally, and institutionally.
