Degree Conferral

The Delaware County Community College confers degrees at the end of the fall, spring and summer sessions. There is a commencement ceremony held in May. The May Commencement Program includes the names of those students who completed degree requirements during the summer, fall, or spring semesters.

Diplomas

Diplomas are available for pick up at the Student Records Service Window within three weeks of the graduation date for any particular session. Recipients are informed by mail as to the exact date of availability. Students must clear any financial obligation with the College before they may receive their diplomas.

Graduation Requirements

In addition to the academic requirements of the particular curriculum chosen, each student must complete the following general requirements:

• The attainment of a scholastic average of C (cumulative index of 2.0) in all work taken at the College.
• The satisfaction of the residence requirement by completing a minimum 24 credits at the College. All necessary transfer credit must be posted before a student can graduate. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that the College has received the transfer credit from other institutions.
• The completion of an application for graduation during the semester in which the student plans to graduate. The application must be accompanied by the payment of the appropriate graduation fee.

Academic Honors

The following rules for honors apply:

• High Honors. Each student will have obtained a minimum overall grade point average of 3.5 at the end of his or her course of study.
• Honors. Each student will have obtained a minimum overall grade point average of 3.0 at the end of his or her course of study.

General Information

Periodic mailings concerning graduation are sent to students who have applied for graduation. The application for graduation is available either at the Student Records Service area of your preferred college location or you can download it here. If you are not receiving graduation mailings please provide us with you current address information.

Caps and Gowns, invitations and other graduation related items are available through the College bookstore.
