Accounting and Math Tutoring
Accounting and math tutors with years of practical experience are available to help you toward success in your accounting and math courses.
English and Writing Tutoring
Conferences with professional writing tutors offer you the chance to work with an experienced writing tutor on a piece of writing such as a summary, an essay, research paper, report, application essay, cover letter, etc. Our tutors can support you in developing ideas for a paper, organizing them effectively and giving you helpful advice to guide your revisions.
Professional tutors will not edit or proofread your papers for you. Nor will they do your reading, thinking or writing for you. Instead, the goal is to teach you to do these things for yourself so that you can become a better, more confident writer. Students find this service to be quite helpful in assisting them to become strong, effective and independent writers.
Peer and Volunteer Tutoring
It’s easy to use the College’s peer tutoring services. At the Marple Campus, you don’t even need an appointment—just walk in. At the other locations, all you need to do is call to schedule an appointment. Best of all, tutoring is free for current College students!
Peer Tutors are selected based on grades and faculty recommendations. Most peer tutors have achieved high grades in all of their courses and have excellent academic skills. In addition to assisting with course material, they can offer tips for efficient and effective use of study time. Volunteer Tutors are selected based on their knowledge of the subject matter. They are usually retired professionals or part-time faculty members who have acquired expertise in a particular area through their work.
Professional Tutorial Lab
Professional Tutorial Lab Services at each campus provide academic support services to students in a wide variety of subject areas. Student success is the core of our philosophy. Professional tutors have advanced degrees and practical teaching experience to help support a variety of learning styles and challenges.
Science Tutoring
Our professional science tutors are trained in current topics and skill sets to support student success. Some tutors have experience in health and science professions, giving them relevant expertise in their field to support their student’s needs.
SMARTHINKING Online Tutoring
An online tutoring service available 24/7, SMARTHINKING provides students in traditional and online and hybrid learning courses with tutoring assistance anytime, anywhere. It is designed to assist students with writing across the curriculum. With SMARTHINKING, you can connect with an e-structor and interact with a live tutor, submit writing to the online writing lab, submit a question and receive a reply from a tutor, and even schedule an appointment with a tutor. Numerous subjects are supported by SMARTHINKING. For more information, log onto delaGATE and click on the SMARTHINKING icon.
Technology Resource Center
The Technology Resource Center is for architectural technology and engineering students who need support in their respective areas.
Tutoring Lab
The tutoring lab serves all students with a focus on ESL, Act 101 and Vocational Education students and those enrolled in career programs. The lab also supports developmental and special need students.
The Writing Center
