College Hosts “Topping Off” Ceremony as Science Building Ironwork Wraps Up
The “Topping Off” of the new Science Building on took place on March 11. Over 40 people attended the ceremonies and signed the steel beam before a crane hoisted it into the hands of waiting steelworkers. Among those who took part in the ceremony were members of the College Board of Trustees, Foundation Board of Directors and Capital Campaign Committee. The $60 million, 105,000 square foot, four-story Science building is part of the College’s new Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Complex. The building will contain modern science, engineering and mathematics labs, plus spaces for public gatherings and student leisure.
