Teacher Education Program

The Future Educators Certificate of Competency (formerly the Teacher Education Program) is designed to help interested students jumpstart their education toward a professional career in the PreK-12 education field.   Recognizing the critical teacher shortage in Delaware County, DCCC and Delaware County Council partnered to create this important initiative, whereby high school juniors can now attend the College at no cost and earn up to 38 credits toward an associate degree in education. A new cohort will begin Fall 2025 (August 25, 2025).Students who are eligible to participate in this dual enrollment pathway will have the opportunity to meet with the Transfer Office to discuss transfer options, as well as have access to a success coach and tutoring for their English and Mathematics courses. Laptops are also available, as well as enrichment activities throughout the program. Delaware County High Schools Classed held at the DCCC Marple Campus location. Important Dates: Application Deadline: March 6, 2025 Course Placement/Testing Deadline: April 24, 2025 Registration begins in May for eligible students. Eligibility is determined by course placement**. When applying, select "Education" as the anticipated program of study. Please remember to answer the question, “What type of Dual Enrollment Program are you interested in?” You will want to select “Structured Pathway.” After completing your dual enrollment application, applicants must send our Admissions Office an email (admiss@dccc.edu) to confirm that you applied for the Future Educators Certificate of Competency and to be considered for the program. Seats will be awarded on a first qualified, first admitted basis. *Course placement will determine if a high school dual enrollment student is eligible to register for selected college courses. Kids Camps

Kids love our camps! From AI Adventures, Mock Trial and Model UN, to Cooking, Construction and LEGO Builders, there's something for everyone at DCCC's Kids Camps. Have a tween or teen? Be sure to check out the Babysitter Training with CPR & First Aid Certification. If your child is staying all day with us, they are required to register for Lunch Bunch, which costs $30 for each week. Please request when you register. Campers must bring their own lunches. The cafeteria is not available.Refunds will be offered if request is emailed to communityed@dccc.edu 10 days prior to the start date of your camp. National First-Generation College Celebration

The office of First-Generation Student Success (FGSS) at Delaware County Community College (DCCC) enthusiastically celebrates National First-Generation College Celebration Day (FGCC), by hosting First in My Family Week from November 4 to November 8. This is our fourth year in joining many other colleges and universities across the nation to celebrate FGCC.   What is FGCC and why do we celebrate? FGCC Day is celebrated annually on November 8th to commemorate the signing of the Higher Education Act (HEA) of 1965. On November 8, 2017, in honor of the 52nd anniversary of the signing of HEA, the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE) partnered with FirstGen Forward (formerly known as the Center for First-Generation Student Success) to host the first First-Generation College Celebration. FGCC is an opportunity to honor and celebrate the accomplishments and presence of first-generation college students, faculty and staff on campuses across the country. How we Celebrate at DCCC! We heard what you have all been asking for and we decided to rename our beloved Elder Week to Return to Learn Week - 55 and older. For just $130 for all three days, or $115 for two days, students received eight workshops, continental breakfast and tempting lunches at the “ElderWeek Café.” Most classes and activities took place in the STEM Center, which is conveniently located next to the parking lots and is easily accessible for all of our students. Advance registration is required and limited. Workshops are filled on a first-come, first-registered system. The preferred form of registration and payment is by phone with a credit card at 610-359-5025. If you choose to mail your registration, be sure that it is postmarked by Friday, May 9, 2025.
