A Leader in Workforce Development Education and Initiatives

The College is a regional leader in the development and delivery of courses leading to professional certifications, certificates of competency and proficiency, and Associate in Applied Science degrees. Adding to these opportunities are our first-rate classrooms and laboratories housed in the new state-of-the-art Advanced Technology Center, part of the STEM Complex on the Main Campus in Marple Township, or at our Pennocks Bridge Campus in West Grove.

The College's workforce development initiative is a continuous improvement system whereby we establish working relationships to provide education in the interest of economic development in the following areas:

  • Local, regional and statewide businesses
  • Industries
  • Government agencies
  • Four-year colleges and universities

The single most important concern of businesses looking to locate or relocate in a specific region is the region's ability to supply a skilled workforce and a continuous education model for employee retention and skills enhancement. We are proud to be a part of the infrastructure that supports Delaware, Chester and surrounding counties with courses in automotive technology, carpentry, construction management and supervision, industrial production and mechanical technology, and certifications for electricians, HVAC specialists, plumbers and welders. We also offer a host of non-credit classes for personal and professional development, and specialized opportunities for businesses. Learn more >>

Our philosophy is that if this region is going to compete in a global economy we must provide the market with a highly skilled workforce with post secondary degree credentials. To this end, we are continuously developing courses and associate's degrees for emerging and incumbent workers. Delaware County Community College has become the institution of choice for delivering on-site, associate's degree programs for the existing workforces at Sunoco, PECO, UPS, QVC, and Wyeth. Many of our business partners offer scholarships to individuals interested in careers in technical education and public safety. Be part of this important dynamic and enroll in classes today.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us and welcome to the Division of Workforce Development and Community Education,
