Information Literacy at Other Locations

Faculty at all DCCC locations have access to the librarian services ViaVideo (Web-based video conferencing software).
You can schedule an information literacy session for your class by following these instructions and guidelines:

Scheduling Classes at other campus locations

To schedule a ViaVideo information literacy session with a Marple Campus librarian at DCCC locations other than Main Campus faculty should contact their appropriate Learning Resource Center Supervisor.
The LRC Supervisor will collect necessary information from the faculty member by having them complete and submit a form.

  • Please be sure to fill out a form for each course. Multiple sections can be scheduled on one form.
  • In order to facilitate the scheduling process, we ask faculty to offer the LRC Supervisor a range of possible dates to schedule the appointment.
  • The LRC Supervisor will coordinate room scheduling and technical support.
  • Instruction usually runs 90 minutes in length. If the class time is longer than 90 minutes, the additional time will be used as practice.

  • 2 weeks’ notice is required for scheduling classes. The library has the right to decline a class if insufficient time is given.
  • Classes need to be scheduled during the first four weeks of the semester regardless of when the class is to be held.
  • If you are a part-time faculty member, you must provide your home phone number and email.
  • The librarian teaching the class will contact faculty after the session has been scheduled.
  • Faculty must be in attendance during the session.
  • Please include a copy of the assignment related to library instruction.
  • Assign the research-based project to students prior to the library session.
  • Share the Basic Computer Use Skills list with your students.
