Request for Library Instruction Session

Faculty members should use this form to request instruction sessions in the DCCC Library or to request use of the Library computer classroom (Rm. 4546) for your personal instruction. This form is for scheduling purposes only.

A reference librarian will contact you shortly to discuss the content of the session. If you have any questions regarding the use of this form or the scheduling of classes, please contact Dorothy Hatcher in the Library Administrative Office (Rm. 4554) or by phone at x5150. Office Hours: Fall & Spring 7:30am-3:30pm

The following guidelines for faculty scheduling will assist us in adequately preparing for the instruction sessions and enhancing their effectiveness. Your assistance is an essential element in that endeavor.

  • 2 weeks notice is required for scheduling classes.
    The library has the right to decline a class if sufficient time is not given.
  • Wednesdays from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM are unavailable - since the Reference Librarians meet at this time.
  • Reservation for your class needs to be scheduled during the first four (4) weeks of the semester regardless of when the class is to be held.
  • Classes larger than 25 students will need to be broken up into two sessions.
  • Please use a separate electronic form for each separate course. Multiple sections of one course can be listed on one form (up to 3 sections per form).
    Please specify am or pm times when filling out form.
  • Assign the research-based project to students prior to the library session.
  • Please include a copy of the assignment related to library instruction.
  • Share the Basic Computer Use Skills list with your students.
  • The librarian scheduled to teach your class will contact you after scheduling to discuss the content of the session.
